Long Tail Keywords For Beginners: Make More Money Online 2020

I will tell you what you want to know about long tail keywords, and also demonstrate what they are, and how effective they are for ranking so if you are a beginner then read this.

This blog that you are reading right now is relatively new.

People haven’t really decided to go and link to my blog or posts from their blogs yet. Backlinks are an important ranking factor for Google. You need strong links to your site, to rank for competitive keywords.

I hardly have any links yet and this blog does not rank for any significant keywords because of lack of authority.

Yet, it easily ranks for lots of long tail keywords that bring me visitors, and you can do the same thing for your new blog and begin to get some traffic!

Here is an example:

a long tail keyword ranking no1 instantly

As you can see, my blog imstacks.com ranks in the first position. It also took the snippet spot because it answers a question.

What does long tail keywords mean?

A long-tail keyword is just a keyword with more words added to it. You can see an example in the image above.

It is not complicated at all, anyone can understand it. The Word has been around for more than a decade in the World of Search Engine optimization and it continues to be used.

Example of long tail keyword phrases?

“keyword” is a keyword.
“Keyword Research” is a short tail keyword.
“example of long tail keyword phrases” is a long-tail keyword.

It is that simple.

why are long-tail keyword terms so important to seo?

Because when you go for a keyword or a short tail keyword, the likelihood of someone using that exact match keyword in their title, headings, and content is a lot higher.

There are also more people searching for keywords and short tail keywords than long-tail keywords.

That makes shorter keywords more competitive because more websites target them specifically.

So when you do search engine optimization, you want to  target keywords that you have a chance of ranking for  so that you can get some traffic to your site.

If you want to make money online with affiliate marketing, or eCommerce then search engine traffic is one of the highest converting traffic you can get because people who use search engines to find products or solutions to their problems are often ready to buy.

With long-tail keywords, you will not get as much traffic to your site per long-tail keyword you rank, but they can be highly targeted to your niche or offer, and that in and of itself makes the traffic high quality.

For example:

if you are promoting a course on SEO, then a keyword like ”SEO” will have very high search volume and high competition.

A long tail keyword like: ”what are the best SEO courses for beginners” will have less search traffic but the searcher is more likely to buy an SEO course because of the intent.

 They are so specific!

With long tail keywords, you can build up enormous amounts of traffic through volumes. Each long tail gives you a few visitors, but they all add up if you write lots of content and posts to your blog/website.

They are also important for SEO because you build up authority for your main keyword and you will start ranking for related ”long tail keywords” that you haven’t even target on purpose so it becomes a snowball effect, the more you post!

For example:

If your main keyword or theme for your blog is ”make money online”.

You start off by targeting long tail variations of that keyword like: how can I start to make money online fast; what are the best ways to make money online for beginners; how do you make money online with SEO in 2020; and so on.

you build up relevancy for ”make money online” and gain more and more authority for that main keyword and other keywords that are tougher to rank.

What are long tail keywords in the context of SEO?

You optimize your content for strings of words ”long tails” that have less competition, fewer searchers but a specific question or thing in mind (they often express buyer intent), and you sort of pick the low hanging fruit!

You go for the easy traffic that you can get quickly.

Competitive keywords can take months, even years, to rank on the front page.

Easy long tails can rank the same day your post gets indexed!

It doesn’t matter if your blog is brand new or if you already have lots of content on it.

You can use long-tail keywords to get highly targeted traffic to your site without having to put in much effort to get backlinks.

If you already have content on your site and you want more visitors, you can go to your posts and optimize them for specific long tails and see your traffic increase drastically.

If you answer questions people are typing in, you can get the snippet spot at the top as I did in the example you can see on the image above.

I’ll end this post here.

I just thought I’d share that with you.
